Hooray for School!!

This week marks the beginning of school for my oldest son and a my youngest son begins preschool
at the same school. We are glad to see the boys going back to a more steady routine.
This summer I think I surpassed the limit of how much I could sunscreen the kids. I am glad
that now I only have to do a small portion of it since they will not be wearing bathingsuits.

Yesterday my oldest son had his first day in second grade, and he came home telling me that it was
going to be much better than first grade. I was in shock since how could he come up to that conclusion
in only a half day. We shall see once the homework starts of course. Mostly I think he is excited to see
all of his friends again.

Well congrads to all the mom and dads out there who like me are happy to see some normality come
back into their life. Cheers to all the teachers out there who do an amazing job teaching our kids I know
that I could never do it so I applaud all of you!!

Coming soon to your nearest Jo-Ann store, my baby fabric!!

This design was titled "Sweet Baby" and its coming around November to your nearest Jo-Ann
store so look for it.

I am soo excited to finally see my designs on fabric. Its funny but when I worked in a print studio
years ago I had many of my designs sold to stores and manufacturers for fabric, but when I began
to license my designs I had a hard time getting them on fabric. I think that the manufacturers are
very cautious on what goes on there product, but I know that these should do well. How could they
not they are soo cute. If anyone makes anything out of these please send a photo so I can post it.
I am hoping in the future to get a line of fabrics so keep your fingers crossed!!

Very Sleepy

I feel just like this woman I painted several years ago. This past weekend we all went
up to visit my friends in Saratoga Springs, NY and had quite the fun- filled weekend.
My friends live right across the street from the Clubhouse entrance so it is easy just
to go back and forth to the track.

However this weekend was full of eating and drinking and hot tubing! The new neighbor
next door put in a heated pool and hot tub as well as an outdoor kitchen and pizza oven!
My friend Tim is an excellent cook so he is over there often cooking in this oven.

The neighbor on the other side is in wine sales so put the 3 together and you have what I
refer to as "Old School" fun. I told my friends they need a frat house sign on their porch,
because it has become just that. The kids spent allot of time in the pool and going back and
forth between homes for fun.

So now I am over my limit of lack of sleep and I am feeling it today! I am way too old to
be partying like I am 20 and so are my friends, and so we are all a little tired today.

For all you people like me who are 40 and over and try to relive their youth rock on!!

My little artists

Here is a painting by my little 4 year old who is becoming a very talented artist as you can see.
He just turned 4 last Saturday and hard for me to grasp that he is not a little baby anymore.
I will tell you that I will not post images of my family on the blog because in the world we live
in you have to be careful. Its hard to imagine especially when I think of my childhood and how
safe it was and how I could ride my bike alone down the street. Today you have to worry about
your child playing in your own front yard never mind down the street. As much as I would love to
share all the beautiful photos I have I feel its more important to protect my little guys as much as
possible. On that note here is another soon to be famous artist! My 7 year old guy!!

He is well on his way to becoming a very talented artist as you can see. He has been drawing as long as I can remember, much like his mom. This little guy makes all kinds of things, and from time to time I will post his lovely creations. It is amazing what these little hands can do. This picture as he describes it is a monster and on the bottom is a underground tunnel. I just love the choice of colors and how they play on the canvas. They painted these on easels in my backyard and enjoyed every minute of it!!

New Fabric!

Today I received 2 yards of fabric from Robert Kaufman with this design on it! I do not
know what I will make with it but I will make sure that when I do I will post the design.
I am also excited to have 3 of my baby designs on fabric that will be in Jo-Ann stores.
I am not sure of the date they will be in the store but I will keep you posted when I find
out! Stay tuned!

My Backyard

I just thought I would share with you photos of my favorite place at home: the backyard!

This is a view of the deck from the yard looking back.

Here is a view from the bar looking at the Pottery Barn chairs and daybed with the flowers all around.
I spend many days planting these pots every year, its time consuming but well worth it.

This is the bar that I searched far and wide for that did not cost a fortune, and we just love using it!

Here is the daybed that we have spent many times lounging on.

Here is one of my favorite flowers in the world the Blue Hydrangea! these have been hard to grow this year
probably due to a lack of snow for water this year. Hopefully next year it will be much better.

This is another favorite, the Hollyhock! I have had trouble the last few years trying to grow this since one
bunny decided to eat it for lunch! So here you are enjoy!!

Day Dreaming

I am daydreaming of the items shown here especially the Pina Colada! It is hot here today and I think
that it calls for a cool summer drink, don't you? this has been my summer drink of choice this year, I
got so tired of Mojioto's and since I had some of these around my husband's 50th birthday weekend in
Cape Cod I have become reaquainted with this old favorite. Enjoy!

Time for School

Well summer is still here and while I love this time of year I am looking forward to
the kids heading back to school. I am begining to get tired of putting sunscreen on 2
boys who prefer not to wear it, and I am tired of washing beach towels and bathing
suits daily. So to all you moms out there with small children here is to the begining of
school! and for us its only 22 days away!

Well folks I have finally made it to the blog world and while I learn more about posting, for now they will
have to be simple. So check back regularly to see what is new on my blog and hopefully before long I will
have this thing down to a science!
