Yes, it's that time of year again when all of us New Englanders get out and pick some of those delicious apples from beautiful farms. Yesterday all of us ( my husband, my two boys and I) along with my brother and niece and some of her girlfriends went to Honey Pot Hill Farm in Stowe, Ma for some good ol' fashion apple picking.
We had a little trouble getting there since there was an accident about a mile away from the farm road and we had to re-route, and then see the mass of people at the farm, but once there it was up the trees and looking for the best apples. My two little boys just loved going up the latter to get the apples and then eating their way through the orchards. I was unable to enjoy the apples the naturally way since I have an allergy to raw apples. I wish I could just bite into one again but I know if I do its Benadril time and that would not be fun. I can however eat them cooked, so it's baking time for me! This farm had many other things besides apples they had pears and a hedge maze and tunnel maze for kids, along with pumpkin painting. I of course enjoyed the fresh cooked cider donuts which was worth waiting in long lines for. If you have never been to Massachusetts or New England this time of year you must go! All the beautiful Fall colors and trees are just so wonderful to see. I could not imagine living in a warm climate this time of year since I love Fall so much. Well I am off to bake pie, crisp, and apple cake!!
Happy Fall
