This is a painting I did in 1990 when I had a studio with friends in Brooklyn, NY. I have decided to show you some of the paintings that are in my studio at the moment. I used to paint allot back before I had kids but it seems I do not have the time to do that along with my design work these days. I am going to get back in the game though and start to put up some work soon on Etsy and see what happens.
Here is another chair painting that I have placed at the bottom my stairs that lead up to the kitchen. My studio is the old garage that we transformed so I am esentially in the basement but you would never know it since we took of the garage doors and put in a french door and windows. This room gets lots of morning light! By the way I was into painting chairs and objects more than people since I wanted the object used to reflect the feeling of the person who used it.
These next series of paintings were done when I first moved back to Massachusetts from New York in 1997. We rented an old house in this beautiful town called Winchester and it had soo many rooms that one was a painting studio for me.
I started to add people in these ones, not sure why but I began a fasination with people sleeping in bed, maybe its because I always wonder what they are dreaming or thinking about when asleep. I just recently
sold another drawing of a woman sleeping in bed, I think that I might have to begin that series all over again and explore more. However for now I will just have to concentrate on new work for clients.
Enjoy!
