New Card

Yes I know I have been a very bad blogger lately! I am being pulled in all directions lately that I cannot seem to get one thing done. I just played around with some of my icons and made this little card, because its soo warm out it almost feels like Spring! However I believe we are expected to get some more snow on Sunday. Rats! I am sooo done with the snow you cannot believe and I know many of my fellow New Englanders are as well.
So just a short little post today, since I went out with an old girlfriend last night and I am feeling very tired today. When ever you hang out with old friends and their are cocktails involved well you know it will be a late night and last night was no exception.

So have a great weekend all, and I promise I will be a better blogger next week! I have been busy creating all kinds of new goodies so soon there should be more to share.

New Print

Bright colored flowers and a warm breeze in the air is what I am dreaming about these days. This is that point in ever year when I say enough is enough and bring me my spring please. Its only natural since I was born in the Spring that I would favor it so. There is nothing like the first sight of a brightly colored purple crocus popping out of the cold ground to put a smile on your face. I think that winter is necessary for us to appreciate all the beauty that Spring and Summer bring. If I lived in California like my brother and some friends I am sure I would take it all for granted. Somehow the longing for the color is worth its weight in gold. However with that said I could use a dose of LA living right now, nothing like having nice weather when you want it.
I am planning on my trip to LA to see family and friends this October and when the leaves start turning and the color fades I will be greatful for another dose of it while in LA!
So for all of us New Englanders patience and it will come.... I know I will dream of it!

Love is in the air..

Well yes its that time of year when all those love birds go crazy and all the single people despise. I can tell you that if it were not for work, Valentine's Day would be the one of the worst creations known to man. In my business its a must to design for it and so therefore I must thrust myself into a world full of hearts and sentiment.
What a cruel thing to do to those who are without any special someone, its a terrible reminder of that fact and only worsens the blow.

I remember forever that I never had anyone to spend Valentine's Day with until my husband came along. Yes its true that not until the age of 26 did I have someone significant in my life on Valentine's Day. I was never good in the dept. of relationships and infact the longest one I had before my husband only lasted about a month. Let's just say I was a magnet for attached, in-between men, once I figured out why that all changed and I met my husband. I still remember that first Valentine's Day I was like a girl on Love steriods and didn't know how to stop. You had to forgive me I mean come on it was my first! So there I was all dressed up with the sexy lingerie underneath my dress and a bag full of gifts to give him in the quaint little bistro in the West Village. I don't think he knew what was coming and I literary bombarded him with all kinds of gifts from chocolate, to handmade cards and boxes. He was a little embarrassed but took it well.
I was very excited to receive my gift which was earrings and a necklace. Atlas I had a special someone to share this day with. I think that I could have exploded it was all too much. Luckily things are much more calmer now and a simple night out without the kids is all that is needed. I still have all those items around the house and infact that box is in our upstairs bathroom which houses the boys legos for the tub. I was looking in my drawer the other day and ran across the garter belt that I bought, and by the way I don't know how those women did it back in the day.. it was such a pain to put those stockings on I cannot tell you.
These days Valentine's Day takes on a different meaning for me now that I have two young boys, I love to spoil them with fun gifts and things that I make. I guess you can say once I got the taste of it all I couldn't stop. My hubby still gets some nice gifts too but not a crazy as the first time.
These stuffies I made for the boys last year and they call them "hearty" which is sweet. I am unable to make something like this year so Legos it is!

I hope you have an enjoyable Valentine's Day and try not to go to crazy.. lord knows I have learned my lesson and if you are without a special someone grab a bunch of your girlfriends and go out and have some cocktails.. no one I mean no one is better to hang with on that day than them! I won't tell the men what to do because generally they could care less, its us who get all tangled up in this nonsense!

New Cards

The inside reads: to a real Fox!

A couple of new cards I created for the fun of it. I am always amazed at how fast things go when you work on a computer. I had for so many years just painted everything and these days its more on the computer than painting. Although I am feeling a bit itchy again to create a whole new set of work with my trusty brush, and infact I have to do just that for my next fabric collection. I am not one who likes to stick to one medium for too long, I feel it limits my creativity and therefore cannot grow as an artist. Some may say its hard to tell which piece is mine since I do work with many mediums and have many styles which sometimes can be a hindrance rather than an asset. Many find that people get used to a certain look and like to stick with it, while others are always looking for the newest and fun style, so I have to play both fields, and as you can see I do not mind one bit.

So we are the Monday before Valentine's Day and the kids school vacation, which I find completely nuts since they just had a Christmas one. I mean how are parents supposed to do their work if they constantly have to take time off? I have already put into place a plan for the kids so I can continue to work. My little guy will be at the "Y" camp, which for us is fantastic, our "Y" is the country club of "Y"'s since it has an indoor waterslide and huge gym and a zero pool. Many people go nuts when they see it and cannot believe that its a "Y", since it used to be a tennis club years ago it only made sense that it would be a great "Y". I like most moms during the week are putting my little guy in the playroom for the free babysitting so I can workout for 2 hours! Its just great!My oldest guy will be switching days with his friends by hanging out at their house, not sure which day we have yet.

So anyway I hope you all have a productive week and can relax a little bit the next! I will do my best!

New Products

Hello all I hope you had a great weekend! I wanted to share with you some new products that I received last week. These are more great cards from my fabulous new client Gina B Designs. I love the feel of the cards, they are printed on this high quality paper which resembles watercolor paper. The boxed notes you might recall is a design I posted awhile back. You can find them here.

These great kids cards are part of this fun bug collection I did awhile ago and I am glad Gina B took them. Look how cute the thanks yous are! You can find them here and here. I know I will have to make my boys use these for their birthdays.

I am anxious to see what they will do with my Christmas designs, you just never know. If you have no idea about how this process works I will let you know. Sometimes companies just take my design as is and sometimes they rework it as the case is here to suit there needs, and if its a great company like Gina B you will love what they come up with. There have been times when I have not been happy with the outcome of a product but generally that does not happen.
