I am back from Atlanta busy doing all my follow-ups and working away on all kinds of new stuff too. Here is a pic from the Enesco showroom with my Christmas Glass fusion and banner collection. I love how the plates and ornaments came out- our new take on glass fusion was putting detail in it with decal and glitter which is very new-!!
Here are some of the Halloween plates.. I didn't take a pic of the banners that were next to it, I was feeling rather burnt out from my show that day. Infact I didn't put in a pic of me with these items because I look like death!! I can't wait to use these in my house!!
Here is a pic of some of my new Kitchen textiles with Peking Handicraft. I love how fun they came out and I have included in my Etsy shop prints that coordinate with these.
It was such a task to get to Atlanta this time around since the day that my friends and I were supposed to arrive we got a blizzard!! I think New England should be called Alaska these days with all the snow we are having... its insane!!
Anyway my good friend Carol Eldridge, Kathy Weller and I did manage after a full day of changing flights to get on the first flight out the next day, just in time to set up our booth. while I would love to show photos of that, I have decided recently not to put any new designs on my blog. I have noticed some people have begun to copy images that I feel are way to close so from now on I will only publish images that are on products.
However here is a photo of the three of us the last night of the show at the Ritz Carlton enjoying dinner. Although I have to say I could barely stay awake. It was a grueling show this time around and all the stress of getting there only impacted it more.
I was very pleased at the show and will have some amazing news to share about it real soon. I think that next year its going to be even better. I hear many artists complaining about the show but really the ones who were complaining mostly were those who did not participate, and so I think you have to be in it to really have a say. Yes the booths were cramped, yes the room was hot, but that was because before they were blowing cold air in so we stopped the air,but really the deals were being made, and contracts were being signed, isn't that all that really matters???
Hey you could put me in a small corner and I still will make it happen. It is all about what you have to show. Is your art/designs something the manufacturers want? Are you showing them that you know product, or are you simply posting images on a wall hoping they will decide? I didn't get this far in my career waiting for it to happen.. in the words of Melanie Griffith and Sigorney Weaver in Working Girl " who makes it happen?" - " I make it happen!" Funny how that movie played on t.v right before I went to Atlanta.
The next day after returning home I received this lovely package from Precidio, my melamine that will be in Homegoods come this Spring!! I love how it came out and can't wait to use it on my deck this summer.
Well there ya have it folks, I know its been awhile but I am super duper busy these days, which is a good thing. I am hoping to share my big news in the next week or so , so stay tuned and for the love of god please someone make this snow stop!!
